Well 1 week in and the bulb is still good the packaging it came in was well wrapped. What you are buying is the bulb and the full plastic housing, it came inside a static free plastic bag inside the manufacturer box then that is wrapped in bubble wrap inside a shipping box. It survived shipping across 7 states during the holidays, i was very impressed with the condition of the box upon arrival. The bulb itself is a phillips the same one that came in it from sony the bulb and all new hardware comes preinstalled in the housing NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED just plug, secure and enjoy! (funky note the new plastic the housing is made of has a interesting smell after it warms up that lasted about a day after install it does go away and the area is not stained with the smell) hope this review reinsures your purchase -Michael
